Circle Work and Performance

Radius Guitar Ensemble & Europa String Choir are holding a project this September:

Circle Work and Performance
With the Radius Guitar Ensemble and Europa String Choir
September 23-29, 2024
Itri, Italy

For this one week project held near Rome, the Radius Guitar Ensemble is joined by our friends in the Europa String Choir (Udo Dzierzanowski, Cathy Stevens, and our own Alessandro Bruno) to work together in the Circle in preparation for two performances in Rome and Napoli towards the end of the week.

Participation is open to anyone who has attended at least one Guitar Craft, Guitar Circle or directly related project, and has an established Morning Sitting practice. Much of our work will be done using guitars (acoustic), but anyone who would see themselves participating without guitar is equally welcome.

While our work will be aimed mainly at preparing for the performances, the project will also offer opportunities to address our personal practice in a more general sense, and prepare for future work including the OCG+Intro Course with Robert Fripp in Italy next year.

The week will include work with the Alexander Technique, lead by Pia Quaet-Faslem assisted by Cathy Stevens, both qualified AT teachers, Qui Gong lead by Roberto Deiana, work in the Kitchen and House, and much more.

The project is organised by an experienced team including Alessandro Bruno, Mikael Weichbrodt, and Roberto Diana. The work will be directed by the group as a whole, with necessary roles being assumed and held lightly according to the needs of the moment. The role of Performance Leader will be held by Mikael Weichbrodt.

A necessary requirement for being a playing member of the Performance Team is the ability to play in tune, in tone, and in time.

The location is Santuario Maria Santissima della Civita in Itri, ca 2h from Rome by train or car.

Arrivals: Monday, September 23 by 13:00 at the latest.

Departures: Sunday, September 29 after lunch.

The necessary contribution per person is €600.
