For this seventh course in the International At-A-Distance series, we will come together to be present as a group for an extended period of time, similar to what we did for IAAD IV: A Still Point in 2022-2023. This time we’ll gently hold the question Where Are We Now? for 90 days, while using The Eye Of The Needle as a focal point for addressing the quality of our personal practice both with and without the guitar.
For this course we’ll be joined by Frank Sheldon, who will be presenting work based on his recently published book Becoming A Witness To Your Own Experience, as a main feature of the course.
We’ll explore the outer as well as the inner aspects of The Eye of the Needle through everything from guitar calisthenics to the Alexander Technique, with the help of many experienced guitar Buddies including Horacio Pozzo, Curt Golden, Leo Requejo and others. Erin Wigger is heading up the AT team, and several other experienced Crafties will be available for assisting us wherever this exploration may take us!
As the course will span three months, the tempo of the presentations on the site and live on Zoom will be balanced so that we can maintain the necessary intensity of work while still being fully available to the responsibilities of our everyday lives. All participants are welcome to take on only as much as they wish and are able to, with Sundays being our Day Off.

This course is open to anyone who has participated in at least an Introduction to Guitar Craft, Guitar Circle, or any of the subsequently formed groups carrying this work forward, and has an established Morning Sitting practice. If you have not attended a formal introduction and are not sure whether this course is for you, please feel free to get in touch with us and we’ll be happy to offer guidance.
The minimum fee for participation is $250/€250, though we will gratefully welcome larger contributions from those who wish and are able to make them. For anyone in need of special terms, a best shot is just as welcome.
To register, please submit an application letter to rayoflightinc@gmail.com detailing:
Who are you?
Why do you wish to participate?
What is your aim for this 90 day project?
Once your application is received and accepted, you will receive more information. For any questions, please just email us at the same address!
Best wishes,
Dev & Mika on behalf of the Core Team
