An invitation from Reading Circle organisers Bob Antia, Catherine Johnson, and Darren Henderson:
You are invited to join the virtual Reading Circle focused on Aphorisms by Robert Fripp (drawn from the aphorisms card decks and The Guitar Circle book). On January 8th 2022 we began reading the book with Series 1, and then during November 2024 Series 7 completed the book — but there’s always space for more exploration of the aphorisms.
With this our third aphorisms series we’ll once again be building a bridge to our future work together. The Reading Circle is open to anyone who wishes to participate, so please read on!

This invitation is being sent to those who participated in the previous Reading Circle, along with those who have attended Guitar Circle events, plus this announcement will be posted in GC Facebook groups.
Importantly this reading group is open to anyone who wishes to join, so please share this announcement with others who may be interested. (If you aren’t a previous participant in the RC, or have never attended a Guitar Circle event, please mention this when emailing us.)

Having invited in chance, what aphorism has been drawn for the first meeting?
Trust is the recognition,
and acceptance,
of commitment.

Between today and our meeting on May 25th, it’s asked that each day you invoke this aphorism in a way that’s purposeful. This could be upon waking, before / after Morning Sitting, at a specific time of your choosing, or as part of recapitulation at the conclusion of the day.
Posed as two questions: Can I be sensitive to this aphorism as part of my daily life? If so, what arises? We’ll then meet as a group to share our experiences of living with this aphorism.
When will we meet?
The group will have four one hour Zoom meetings on Sundays at the U.S. times of 2:00 PM EST / 1:00 CST / 11:00 AM PST — beginning May 25th 2025 and meeting fortnightly through until July 6th.
What is asked of you?
Availability, participation, and goodwill. Moreover, when we meet, to speak from personal experience. We ask that you commit to this work for the eight-week period to the best of your ability.

Please send an email to rco@crefft.org so that we can add you to the participant’s list, and then send out the Zoom meeting information (replies will only go to the organizers).
