This is a wonderful time to get creating and get musicking. This is why musicians and artists are in the world. When we are shovelling the horseshit that we see on a daily basis, it’s when we are most needed. So, although we are allowed to say – look, this is a bit too much for me – we are allowed to say that –  it is asked of us that we strap on our instrument, join with a few chums in the Circle, and rock out.

Because that’s what the world needs from us.

Do I feel like doing that? Not a lot. Does it matter? Not in the slightest! What I’ve been doing today: I’ve been strapping on a guitar and learning Led Zeppelin’s Whole Lotta Love. I’m not sure the world needs that from me, but I think probably I need that from Led Zeppelin.

So, there we are.

Taking this a little more seriously… we can all run downhill. The challenge is when it goes the other way. This is a main reason in acquiring a discipline. No criticism, no judgement whatsoever – sometimes we just can’t get out of bed. I know, there we go. But a discipline will support us when we kick one leg out from the sheets, then a second one, stick them on the floor, and get up. 

And, the world needs us. The world needs us right now.
